Patrick Glen Doucette, age 74, died Monday, August 26 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital as a result of an accident while doing what he loved, clearing horse trails on his new tractor with a few of his many friends. Pat was born in Antigo on December 5, 1944 to the late Glen and Mae (Now) Doucette. Pat was united in marriage to Emily (Perrot) Packard on May 21, 1988 in Antigo. He attended Antigo High School and then went on to serve in the US Army, stationed in Germany for three years. Upon returning to the United States he served as a Drill Sargent. Pat was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 139. He was also a carpenter and mason. He was an active member of The Triple R Riding Club, the American Legion and the National Rifle Association. Pat, also known as "The Marlboro Man", was a good loyal friend and was always there to help others as a handyman. He and Emily shared a love of horses, spending endless hours riding the trails. Survivors in addition to his wife, include a daughter; Stephanie (Todd) Evans of Green Bay, a son; Clint Doucette of Green Bay, 4 grandchildren; Isabella, Scarlett and Lawton Evans, Johannah Doucette, and 4 step grandchildren; Hunter, Trenton, Zoe, and Matthew, 5 sisters; Marlene Shebuski, Judy (Bob) Warren, Faye Fleischman, Jane Hoerman all of Antigo, Bev Edgeton of Minnesota, 4 brothers; Maurice of Winchester, Loren (Peg), Dale (Shelley), Doug (Carolyn) all of Antigo, 4 sisters-in-law; Bets Doucette of Antigo, Kathie (Jim) Pool of Polar, Kay (Russ) Crum of Antigo, Vicki Marshall of Antigo, 2 brothers-in-law; Butch Perrot, and Shawn Perrot of Antigo, and many nieces and nephews and their families. In addition to his parents, Pat was preceded in death by a sister; Virgil Gerloch, 2 brothers; Gerald and Merle, 5 brother-in-laws; Jim Edgeton, Donny Fleischman, Ken Bettack, Bob Gerloch and Jerry Hoerman, a sister-in-law; Shirley Doucette, his mother-in-law and father-in-law; Roy and Sophie Perrot. In keeping with his giving spirit, Pat chose be a tissue donor to allow others the benefit of a full and healthier life. A celebration of Pat's life will be held at a later date.
