Phyllis Mae Parks

Phyllis Mae Parks, died Sun. Aug. 21, 2011 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Antigo, WI. She was born May 4, 1943 in Mattoon, WI, daughter of Ralph A. Young and Anna Young Paige. Ms. Parks graduated from Antigo High School and Central Arizona College. She was employed in health care, working as a nursing assistant in home care and in hospice. She also worked for Shestak's dairy farm. She enjoyed exploring family genealogy and loved animals. Ms. Parks was a 4-H leader for five years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Polar. Ms. Parks is survived by a son Kevin Parks of Portland, OR; her mother Anna Paige of Antigo, a sister Fay Curran of Elcho, WI; nieces and nephews Renee, Perry, Pat (Mary), and Mark (Davia) Curran. She was preceded in death by her father, a daughter Laura Ann Parks and a brother Lyman Young. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Polar. Reverend Nancy Richmond will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and from 10:00 am until the service Thursday at the Church. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials in Ms. Parks's name will be established for the Humane Society and Sheltie Rescue.
