Phyllis Marie Bula

Phyllis Marie Bula, age 94, passed away on March 20, 2025, surrounded by her family, and under the care of LeRoyer Hospice.

Phyllis was born on March 16, 1931 in Antigo to the late Carl and Clara (Brick) Hoerman.

She worked for Weinbrenner Shoe Company before beginning her long career at Sheldons’ Inc. She was a member of St. Wencel’s Catholic Church. Phyllis enjoyed cooking and baking, which made her an excellent host. She was the heart of every family gathering, hosting celebrations and holidays until she was well into her nineties. Beyond her talents in the kitchen, she instilled in her family the values of education and hard work. She also enjoyed crocheting.

Phyllis is survived by daughters, Carol Trelstad of Colorado Springs, Chris Roeseler of Antigo, and Tammy (Tony) Pavek of Bryant; sons, Michael (Leah) Bula of Plover, Paul (Jayne) Bula of Antigo, and Kenneth Bula of Fremont; sister, Marie Gesell; brothers, Carl (Eleanor) Hoerman and Robert (Ann) Hoerman; grandchildren, Lisa (Tim) Johnson, Becky Bula, Bryan Trelstad, Heidi (Travis) Stoker, Stacy (Tim) Zdroik, Carie (Jeremy) Collins, Ashley (Brandon) Wanca, Sara (Steve) Baur, Philip (Chris) Benes, Joshua (Katie) Benes, Zachary Roeseler, Tabitha (Jon) Irish, Travis (Alanda) Pavek, Trent Pavek, Taylor (Reece) Westimayer, Nicole Pavek, Cody (Sydney) Bula, Tyler (Melissa) Bula, Allison Bula, and Emily (Djon) Dangautan; great grandchildren, Eathen Bula, Brian Bula, Samuel Trelstad, Trinity Trelstad, Faith Trelstad, Logan Stoker, Scarlett Stoker, Alex Bula, Garrett Zdroik, Graden Zdroik, Ava Wanca, Payten Wanca, Lucas Wanca, Brantley Wanca, Mason Baur, Raelin Baur, Beau Baur, Olivia Benes, Eleanor Benes, Owen Benes, Caleb Benes, John Benes, Matthew Rickert, Talia Pavek, Parker Pavek, Phineas Bula, Alexa Bula, Lucas Bula, Mason Bula, Kyle Bula, Aiden Dangauten, and Noah Dangauten; great great grandchild, Quinn Mae Trelstad-Palmer, and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her former husband, Donald Bula, sons, Daniel Bula, and Carl Bula; brothers, Eugene (Jeanne) Hoerman, Ed (Donna) Hoerman, Ben (Barbara) Hoerman, Dale Hoerman, Richard (Geraldine) Hoerman; sisters; LaVerne (Barney) Hohensee, Marilyn (Chuck) Stengel, and Doris (Ellsworth) Schumitsch.

In accordance with Phyllis’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Faith Center Church located at N2142 US Highway 45, Antigo.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in Phyllis's name.
