Phyllis Suick

November 27, 1926 — May 24, 2024

Phyllis Suick passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024, at the age of 97 at her home in The Villages, Florida. She was proceeded in death by her husband of 69 years James Suick, her parents, Lucy and Louis Harrington, and her siblings, Devota Campbell, Sister Mary Patrick, and Brother Killian.


She is survived by her four children, Joan Suick, Jan (Scott) Eaby, Timothy (Barb) Suick, and Jean Wojtowicz; eight grandchildren, Chris Suick, Jeff (Allison) Eaby, Dan Eaby, Erin Eaby, Gina Suick, Ryan Suick, Linda Mihas, and Jenny (Chad) Yuenger; and twelve great grandchildren.


Until recently she was an active golfer, bridge and mahjong player and had an active social life. Prior to retirement she owned and operated three furniture stores in northern Wisconsin and had previously been a supportive partner in her husband’s various businesses.


Phyllis was an active philanthropist in the Langlade County area, supporting many organizations including the Langlade County Senior Center, All Saints Catholic school, the Antigo Public Library, Kettlebowl Ski Hill, helped develop and support an entrepreneurial business course, and started the first bridge marathon over 70 years ago that is still operating today in support of books for the Catholic school. She enjoyed her summers at Pelican Lake, Wisconsin and continued to support the Pelican Lake Property Owners Association.


The family would like to offer a special thanks for the care and compassion provided by Elsy Aguilar (our angel) in her final months and the support of her friends and neighbors.


A visitation will take place from 10:00 to 11:00 AM and a funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM both at St John’s Catholic Church in Antigo, Wisconsin on June 22, 2024. A celebration of life will be held at the Saddlebrook Recreation Center in The Villages, Florida on November 9 at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her name to the Langlade County Senior Center, P.O. Box 104, Antigo, WI 54409 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
