Rachel Helen Schramke of Elcho, formerly of Antigo, passed away on June 22, 2021 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital at the age of 92. Rachel was born on May 16, 1929 in Antigo to the late John and Hazel (Now) Keen. She graduated from Antigo High School in 1947. On April 19, 1954, she was united in marriage to Dennis Schramke. Dennis preceded her in death on September 20, 2002. Rachel worked at People’s Bank from 1947 to 1957. She also worked helping her husband with a wholesale/retail home delivery milk route for the Hyland Lakes Dairy from 1961 to 1968. After Rachel and her husband moved to Elcho, she worked as a cook for the Elcho School Cafeteria. Rachel was a member of the First Baptist Church and later attended the United Church of Christ in Elcho. Rachel enjoyed gardening, baking, and knitting, but most of all enjoyed being a devoted mom, grandma “Gramma”, and great grandma. Rachel is survived by her son; Kevin (Charlotte) Schramke of Elcho, grandchildren; Alexander (Emily) Schramke and Dr. Katelyn Schramke, great grandson; Maxwell Schramke, son of Alexander and Emily, nieces; Karen Pannier (Dave Bryfczynski-deceased), Beverly Pannier, Sandy (Rick) Anderson, Diane (James) Cogley, and Susan (Dave) McIlreath, nephews; Dennis (Cathy) Gibson, Raymond (Kathy) Gibson, and Larry (Patricia-deceased) Gibson. In addition to her parents and husband, Rachel was preceded in death by her infant daughter; Helen Faye and sisters; Virginia (Lawrence) Gibson and Ruth (Milton) Pannier. A funeral service for Rachel will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Pastor Dick Kendall officiating. A visitation will take place Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the funeral home and again on Monday prior to the service from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. A private burial will take place at Elcho Cemetery.
