Raymond D. Lewis, Sr. of Antigo died Sat. Feb. 19, 2011 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. He was 68 years old.He was born June 1, 1942 in the Town of Evergreen, son of the late Raymond and Doris (Gillam) Lewis. During his childhood, his family lived in Ohio, and then moved to Elton. He married Nancy Purdy in 1962 in Antigo, and she survives. Mr. Lewis was employed as a truck driver and a mason. He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, drag racing, and snowmobiling. He loved to be outdoors and in the woods.Survivors, in addition to his wife, include 3 sons, Raymond D. Jr. (Karen) of Antigo, Corey (Cheryl) of Antigo, Brandon (fiancé Jackie) of Antigo; 4 brothers, Robert Dean (Gail) of Elton, Joseph Dale (Sandy) of Elton, Emory Douglas (Kay) of Sumter, SC, and Darryll Glen (Florence) of Argonne; and 6 grandchildren.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a nephew, David Lewis, and a niece, Linda Lewis.A gathering in remembrance of Ray will take place Sunday, February 27, at the home of Robert Lewis in Elton, WI.
