Rene André Hamon died Monday, August 19, 2013 at New Beginnings group home in Wausau, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice. He was 76 years old. He was born November 27, 1936, in Chicago, IL, son of the late André and Anna (Beck) Hamon. He was a former resident of Chicago, Dixon, IL, and Kempster. He was employed in light industry, and also worked at Swanson's Wagon Wheel in Kempster. He was developmentally disabled, but continued learning throughout his lifetime. He is survived by his sister, Gilberte Swanson of Greenfield, WI, his nephew Eric Swanson, and grandnieces Ashley and Nicole, and also by his dear group home caregiver for the past 25 years, Brian Grosskreutz. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law Carl Swanson. Inurnment will be at Restlawn Cemetery in Wausau, with committal prayers in the Chapel on Wednesday, September 11 at 1:00 PM. Rev. Dr. Wes Jedras will officiate.
