Richard Evan "Dick" Myers died quietly in his sleep at Evergreen Terrace, Sunday June 9, 2013 at age 91. He was born November 19, 1921 in Waynesburg, PA to the late Mildred Rice Beeman and Frank Myers. He served in the air force in the European Theater from 1942-1945. After the war he graduated from the University of Alabama in Industrial Engineering. He married Jean Johnson December 8, 1945. She preceded him in death on June 20, 2009. After living in Alabama, Ohio and Virginia, Dick and Jean moved to West Bend, Wisconsin to take a job with Regal Ware Company, where they lived for 37 years. They were longtime members of the Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church. Dick enjoyed gardening, photography, traveling and woodworking. In 2007 they moved to Antigo where Dick resided at Pine Meadow apartments and Jean at Rosalia Gardens. Dick is survived by two sons, Richard (Rick) Myers of Fountain Valley CA and John "Randy" Myers and his wife Jamie of Polar WI, and two grandchildren Aubrey and Cory, both of Antigo. He is further survived by a sister-in-law, Glenda Johnson, Tucson AZ, two nephews Hill (Sarah) Johnson, Tucson, AZ and Glen (Jennifer) Colorado Springs, CO and 3 great nieces, Maggie, Zoë and Victoria. The family would like to thank the special staff at Evergreen Terrace and Pine Meadow/Rosalia Gardens for the loving care Dick received during his later years. Dick always enjoyed visits from family and our friends both two and four legged. He will be remembered for his graciousness, his kind and loving manner, he was quick to smile and appreciative of every kindness he received. "Oh what a lucky man he was." The service will be held on July 11 at 6:00 PM at United Methodist Church in Antigo. A gathering will follow the service at the church. Reverend Deb Pimm will officiate.
