Richard Joseph Deede

Richard Joseph Deede, of Antigo, died Monday, October 17, 2022. He was 86 years old.

He was born August 1, 1936 in Townsend, son of the late Joseph Deede and Ruth Irene (Ramsdal) Lawrence. He married Marianne Wolosyn on March 15, 1959 in Milwaukee.

The family moved to Antigo in 1970, where they operated Richmadee Farms until their retirement.

Richard lived in Racine and West Bend before marriage. He drove bus during his early years of farming. Richard was a 4-H Leader, Scout Leader, and a member of the Market Animal Committee. Richard and his wife Marianne donated property where the Polar Recreation Park was started. They started the "Field of Dreams" on the hillside located by the ballpark. Richard was a fan of all Antigo area sports and the Green Bay Packers.

Richard's travel time out West was spent hunting big game such as elk. At home he enjoyed jigsaw puzzles some of which he donated to Faith United Church of Christ where he was an active member.

Richard is survived by his children, Timothy (Penny) Deede of Antigo, Virginia (Mike) Lambrecht of Sayner, Ruth (Dan) Rettinger of Antigo, siblings Ardis (Ike) Schreiber, Joann LaRock, sister-in-law Claudia Deede, good friend Arlene Schuh, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous members of Marianne's family, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his wife, parents, son Bryon Deede and brothers John Deede and Bob Deede.

A memorial service for Richard will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11 am at Faith United Church of Christ, 628 Clermont Street, Antigo. Rev Wes A. Jedras presiding. Inurnment Elmwood Cemetery. Family and friends may gather Saturday, October 29th at the Church from 9:30 am until time of service.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Richard's name will be established.
