Robert "Bob" Getchell

Robert "Bob" Getchell of Antigo died Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Langlade Hospital. He was 84 years old. He was born March 3, 1930 in Antigo, son of the late Earl Getchell and Viola (Beyer) Getchell, who later remarried and became Viola Olson. He graduated from White Lake High School. He served in the US Army from March 17, 1955 to March 8, 1957, participating in basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, and serving in Hawaii. He was employed as manager of Coca-Cola Bottling in Rhinelander and also worked at City Gas. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and woodworking. Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 5 at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Rev. Karen Tews officiating. Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date in Lakeside Cemetery, Summit Lake.
