Rodney Edward Clay “Rod”, age 64, of Antigo passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024 in the care of LeRoyer Hospice.


Rodney was born on October 1, 1959 in Oshkosh, WI to parents Richard Eugene and Mary Jean (Spear) Clay.


He attended Antigo High School and worked in salvage, at Hunter’s Feed Mill, and as a laborer at both dairy and potato farms in the area.


Rodney enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing, or cutting firewood. He enjoyed listening to the Packer and Brewer games. He most treasured spending time with his grandchildren.


Rodney is survived by his daughters; Jesse (Frank) Clay of Manitowoc, Jennifer (Jason) Clay of Green Bay, Jolene (Jordon) Clay of Aniwa, Shannon (Jeremy) Clay of Georgia, Shauna (Nick) Clay of Antigo, Shelley (Alburn) Hasse of Hawkins, son; Samuel (Savannah) Clay of Antigo, and brothers Richard (Betty), Randy (Deb), and Robin of Antigo, Robert (Caroline) of South Carolina, Kevin Clay, Kim (John) Deisinger) in addition to his many grandchildren.


Rodney was preceded in death by his father and brothers Ross and Rex.


The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mary Jean for her extraordinary care given to Rodney. Rodney’s children are also grateful to his brothers and the care and compassion they provided. They would also like to extend a special thank you to LeRoyer Hospice for their compassionate care during this time.


A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 9:00 AM until Noon at Strasser Roller Funeral Home. Interment will follow at the Lily Cemetery. A pot luck will take place at Boettcher’s Bar from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM.
