Romeo Eldridge

Romeo Eldridge, age 92, left this world to enter into his heavenly home on Saturday, September 22, 2012. Mr. Eldridge was born on February 7, 1920 to the late John and Sarah (Tipton) Eldridge in Olive Hill, Kentucky. On June 10, 1939 Romeo was united in marriage to Pearl Cline in the Town of Nashville in Forest County. They shared 73 years of a faith filled marriage, influencing many generations of their family and others with a Christian way of life. The couple lived in Zion, IL, Kenosha, and then White Lake and Antigo. Romeo operated a dairy farm, logged and also operated a filling station with his sons. Romeo was a member of Four Corners Assembly of God Church in White Lake, where he was a greeter for many years. He praised the Lord through his gift of music; singing, playing the harmonica and the guitar. He enjoyed the outdoors, pitching horseshoes, snowmobiling, fishing, and hunting and had a fondness for trains. In addition to his wife Pearl , Romeo is survived by 4 daughters; Beverly (Joe) Guithues, Ruth (Jim) Brown, Darlene Balli, and Julaine (Mike) Messer; 3 sons Bill (Cherie), John (Linda), and Dale (Doreen), a daughter-in-law Mary Eldridge, 28 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren, and a sister Lorie Bohringer. Romeo was preceded in death by a son Jerry and infant son Lyle; 2 grandsons; Jamie Chism and Luke Eldridge; a son-in-law Noe Balli; 8 sisters and 7 brothers. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:00 PM at Four Corners Assembly of God Church in White Lake. Reverend Marvin Kindle will officiate. Visitation will be on Tuesday at the church from 11:00AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
