Ronald Ray Hunt

Ronald Ray Hunt of Antigo, passed away at home after cardiac surgery on April 29, 2024. He was 67 years old.

Ron was born on August 15, 1956 in Clinton, Indiana to the late Sanford and Audrey (Hann) Hunt. He was raised in Florida and graduated from South Sumter High School in Bushnell, FL. In 1974, Ron met Teri Schmidt in Port Washington while he was visiting his sister. The couple married on June 25, 1977 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Port Washington.

Ron worked as an over the road truck driver, retiring from Sowinski Farms. He lived a faithful life and was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church. Ron was known for being a hard worker and for his warm sense of humor that kids and animals flocked to. He enjoyed his last couple of winters in Florida with family. He also enjoyed fishing. Nothing was more important to Ron than time spent with family, especially his grandkids and all the numerous children who knew Ron as "Papa".

In addition to his wife Teri, Ron is survived by children; Nicole (Jason) McGhee, Michael (Lyndsie) Hunt, and Matthew Hunt (Heather), siblings; Sanford (Debbie) Hunt, Paul (Kathy) Hunt, and Stacy Carpenter, brothers-in-law; Mark (Robin) Schmidt and Steve (Karen) Schmidt, sister-in-law; Christine (Russell) Flexer, grandchildren; Rachelle (Andrew) Frasco, Brian Becker, Hailee Hunt (Adam), Dillon (Allison) Hunt, Sean (Kailyn) Hunt, Madison (Thaylen) Hunt, Cayla Hunt, Amellia McGhee, Caroline Hunt, Harper McGhee, Elleigh Hunt, Ivie Hunt, Taitum Schickert, and Teagan Schickert, great grandchildren; TJ Becker and Mason Borchardt and expecting Nia in August. He is further survived by bonus daughters Sara Meindl and Virginia Tate, many nieces and nephews, and an abundance of children who considered Ron their Papa.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Thomas and Patricia Schmidt.

The memorial service for Ron will be held Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Ascension Lutheran Church at 3:00 PM. A celebration of life will also take place at a later date.
