Ronald "Ron" Godager

Ronald Lee Godager, born on July 12, 1942, was born to eternal life on May 26, 2023.

He was a devoted husband of Carol B Godager (nee Sikorski) for 63 years. He was a proud, dear father of Bonnie Lewis (Royce), Cora Monteen (Gary), Rick Godager (Roxane) and Nigel Ramos (Linda). He was a loving grandpa to 8, great grandpa to 8, and great great grandpa to 1.

Ron graduated from South Division High School in Milwaukee and the Great Lakes Naval Academy.

Ron loved to fish and golf. He also loved to watch all sports on TV. Who knew the food channel was a sports channel? He was proud of the home he built in Polar, where he retired after working at Western States Envelope Company for 37 years. His career at the company began as a machinist when he was just 18 years. Ron and Carol then bought the Blue Goose Saloon in Langlade and ran that for 10 years. Ron was a past president of the Tavern League of Wisconsin and a proud member of the Elks Club.

Ron is also survived by his dear friend Brian Schoen, the world's best neighbors, and many other friends and relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Nina (Weis) Godager, brother Larry, and infant granddaughter Melissa.

A memorial service for Ron will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Sanford officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 AM. Elks Lodge of Sorrow will be at 10:30 AM. Military honors will follow the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Disabled Veterans of America or the dialysis center in Antigo.
