Rosalie Alvey Waite of Polar died at her home on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 under the care of her family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 89 years old. She was born April 9, 1925 in Boise, ID, a daughter of the late George Lewis and Georgia (Smith) Taylor. She married Lawrence Henry Waite on June 9, 1962 in Fairfield, WA. Mr. Waite survives. Mrs. Waite was a graduate of Eagle High School in Idaho. She then attended La Sierra College in California, and graduated with a nursing degree. She was a homemaker, and was also employed as a registered nurse at Langlade Memorial Hospital. She was an active member of the Seventh Day Adventist church. In the early 1950's, she was a Bible worker in the Middle East. Survivors, in addition to her husband, inlude3 sons, Terry (Didget) Waite of Vancouver, WA, Michael (Heather) Waite of Polar, and Kevin (Loree) Waite of Walla Walla, WA; a sister, Mary (Jerry) Lebert of Canby, OR; 6 grandchildren, Amanda Waite, Kalli Waite, Landon Waite, Shayne Waite, Twristan Waite, and Haylea Close; and a great-grandson, Austin. In addition to her adoptive parents, she was preceded in death by her birth parents, Agnes Geesa and Fred Thompson, and a sister, Dorothy Schwab. A memorial service will be scheduled later in the summer.
