Rosemary B. Filbrandt

Rosemary B. Filbrandt, of Antigo, died Tuesday, May 11, 2021 in Madison, WI. She was 94 years old. Rosemary was born on Sunday, October 10, 1926 in Deerbrook, WI to Anton and Agnes (Tlachac) Koss. On October 25, 1952 she married Jerome M. Filbrandt at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2011. Rosemary attended Deerbrook Graded School. In her early years she worked on the family farm and was the seasonal coordinator at the Shady Rest Resort and Lodge on Manson Lake in Tomahawk. For several years she worked as a CNA at Eastview Nursing Home where she enjoyed caring for the elderly. In 1977, she and Jerome established Jerome Filbrandt Plumbing and Heating in Antigo where she was the office manager. Rosemary was a long time member of St John the Evangelist Catholic Church. She was a charter member of the Alter Society and sang in the adult choir. Rosemary enjoyed crocheting, baking, gardening and was a talented seamstress. She was devoted to her family and faith and she touched the lives of everyone she met. She was humble and understated. She was strong and confident. Rosemary is survived by her five children; Patricia Zemaitis of Birchwood, Joseph (Mary Jo) Filbrandt of Antigo, Paula Filbrandt of Madison, Margaret (Charles) Payant of Marshfield and Mary (Jeff) Holbrook of Marshfield, 15 grandchildren; Andrew Zemaitis, Michael (Erin) Zemaitis, Richard (Chelsa) Zemaitis, Thomas (Melissa) Zemaitis, Amy Zemaitis, Benjamin (Sam) Zemaitis, Meghan (Cody) Brown, Katelyn Filbrandt, Patrick Filbrandt, Chelsea (Ben) Tauer, Christian Payant, Charles Payant, Anna Holbrook, Emma Holbrook and Elizabeth Holbrook, and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers, Steven (Grace) Koss of Antigo and Tony (Doris) Koss of Harvard, IL, a sister-in-law, Marian Koss. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jerome, 4 sisters; Blanche (Phil) Kafka, Edna (John) Piela, Mary (Joe) Novak, Julianne Koss, 2 brothers; Stanley (Betty) Koss and Vernon Koss. A mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 12 noon at St John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Antigo with the Reverend Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be from 9 AM until 11:45 AM in the Church gathering hall. Burial will follow the service at Queen of Peace Cemetery. A memorial will be established for All Saints Catholic School in Antigo. Strasser-Roller Funeral Home is assisting the family.
