Roy Moore of White Lake died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Kindred – Eastview. He was 89 years old. He was born April 26, 1924 in White Lake, son of the late Jay and Nancy (Mabry) Moore. He married Evelyn M. Nickolai on Oct. 26, 1946 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in White Lake. She survives. Mr. Moore graduated from White Lake High School in 1943. He served in the US Air Force from 1943-1946, and he was stationed in England during World War II. He graduated from Langlade Normal School in 1952. He was employed as office manager at Aid Association for Lutherans in Appleton. After his retirement in 1985, he returned to White Lake. His interest in public education led him to become president of the White Lake School Board. He also served as president of the Northern Lakes Conference of School Boards and director of the Wisconsin Association of School Boards. Survivors, in addition to his wife, include 2 daughters, Dana (Kurt) Mahnke of Appleton, and Beth (Les) Boyd of White Lake; 3 sons, Alan (Sandy) Moore of Fremont, Eric (Sami) Moore of Appleton, Erin (Tina) Moore of Appleton; 13 grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Gerald; 3 sisters, Dora Stickney, Dorothy Palmatier and Dulcia Fredin; and a brother, Earl Moore. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Hope Presbyterian Church in White Lake. Pastor George Buchanan will officiate. Visitation will be 9-11 Saturday at the church. Interment will follow the service at Langlade Cemetery in the Town of Wolf River. Military honors will take place at the cemetery. Friends may visit online at www.strasserrollerfh.com.
