Sandy “Sandra” Smith of Antigo passed away on February 19, 2021 at the age of 59 with her husband and sister by her side, following a two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer. She was under the care of LeRoyer Hospice and her family. Sandra was born on November 24, 1961 in Pearson to the late Merlyn and Elizabeth (Gallion) Malueg. In August of 1999, Sandra was united in marriage to DuWayne Smith. He survives. Sandra was a graduate of Antigo High School. She went on to live in Las Vegas where she worked at casinos. She also spent time residing in Arizona before moving back to Antigo. Sandra also worked in the veteran’s office as well as bartending and cleaning. Sandra enjoyed being outdoors. She enjoyed four wheeling, camping, and spending time near lakes. In addition to her husband, Sandra is survived by stepchildren; Robert Smith of Marathon and Tiffany Smith of Antigo, brothers; Merlyn (Sharon) Malueg of Neva, Bruce Malueg of Deerbrook, and Dave (Jewel) Malueg of Aniwa, sisters; Sherry Malueg of Phlox and Rita Schuster of Sturgeon Bay, grandchildren; RJ Smith and Walter Smith IV, father-in-law; Walter Smith Jr of Birnamwood, sister-in-law; Barbara (Thomas) Tetting, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sandra was preceded in death by sisters; Georgie Malueg and Margaret Haase-Malueg, brothers; Michael Malueg and Randy Malueg, brothers-in-law; Walter Smith III and Richard Schuster, and mother-in-law; Consuelo Smith. A funeral service for Sandra and a memorial service for her brother Randy will be held on Friday, February 26, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Pastor Spaude officiating. Visitation for the two will take place on Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.
