Sandy Goeman

June 5, 1939 — March 29, 2024

Sandy Goeman, 84, of Antigo, went to her heavenly home on Friday, March 29, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Mattoon, WI, to Marion and Elizabeth (Swan) White, Sandy was a beacon of light in the lives of all who knew her.

A proud graduate of Mattoon High School, Class of 1957, Sandy's journey led her to the loving arms of Dale Goeman, with whom she shared a blessed marriage after their union on April 3, 1965, at Peace Lutheran Church in Antigo.

Sandy's early years as a devoted homemaker laid the foundation for a family filled with love and laughter. Her nurturing spirit was a guiding force as she raised her two children, Melissa and Paul. As they grew, Sandy embarked on a fulfilling career in banking at Fidelity Bank, now known as Chase Bank, where she formed lasting friendships that she treasured deeply.

Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, actively participating in the Peace Lutheran Church community and contributing to various committees. Sandy's love extended beyond her immediate family to her grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and the friends of her children and grandchildren, touching lives far and wide with her warmth and humor.

Sandy found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from the vibrant blooms in her garden to moments spent watching birds by her window. She loved getting immersed in a good book, found joy in the daily tradition of sharing a cup of coffee alongside her husband, and cherished every opportunity to spend time with her family and friends. She was fond of all animals, with her Yorkie, Gracie, holding an especially dear spot in her heart. Sandy's love for the color blue was as deep as the sky she now soars.

Sandy will be fondly remembered for her quick wit, her smile that could light up a room, her joyous laughter, and her unique ability to take a joke. She was a friend to all and had a great sense of humor that will be dearly missed.

She leaves behind her beloved husband, Dale; daughter Melissa Burkhart and her husband Scott, and son Paul Goeman; a brother Richard White; grandchildren: Nick and Jackson Burkhart, Morgan Rosenbaum and her husband Jacob, and Justin Engels; a sister-in-law Jerry Goeman; and brother-in-law, Allen Goeman and his wife Marilyn; and a host of cherished nieces and nephews.

Sandy was preceded in death by brothers: Karl White and his wife Dorothy, Dale "Goon" White and his wife Pat, a sister Sally Johnson and her husband Bill, brothers-in-law: Ken Goeman and his wife Luella, Joe Goeman, sisters-in-law Mary Lu White, Emily McKenna and her husband Gene.

A funeral service to celebrate Sandy's life will be held on Thursday, April 4, at noon at Peace Lutheran Church, officiated by Reverend Jared Fenske. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the service at the church. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery at a later date.
