Sara Mary Arrowood, age 57, died at her home on Monday, June 12, 2023 under the care of her husband Compassus Hospice.
Sara was born on November 26, 1965 in Antigo to the late Stanley and Betty (Carlson) Koss.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1984. On July 4, 1992, Sara was united in marriage to Robert Arrowood at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Neva.
Sara was employed in the healthcare field. In her early career she was a nurse’s aide. She attended Wausau Area Technical College, receiving an associate degree in Health Navigation. Her career path then changed to that of health unit coordinator for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit of Marshfield Clinic in Weston. She was a graduate of Business Professionals of America receiving their American Torch Award and Business Law and Ethics Award.
Sara enjoyed gardening, baking and was a fan of Jefferson Starship.
Survivors include her sisters: Betsy (Jim) Ahner of Evansville, Jennifer Sasseen of Seattle, WA, Kristine (Mark) Gostisha of Land O’ Lakes, Karen (Jeff) Braatz of Bryant, brothers: Tom (fiancé Victoria) Koss of Bryant, Richard (Cindy) Koss of Antigo, Andrew Koss of Antigo, a brother-in-law Ronald Arrowood of Menomonee Falls, a godson Tyler Tautges, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends: Brian Ong and Dan “Buddy Dan” Jahnke.
In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by a sister-in-law Michelle Koss and her mother-in-law Christine Arrowood.
Sara courageously battled cancer for nearly two years. As she endured, she kept her faith and with the support of family, friends, and co-workers the struggle of her journey was lessened. Sara personally wrote and shares this message, “I want the family, friends, co-workers that have supported me through this whole journey to know that I love you and appreciate your support. … thank you and when I cross over to heaven, please …know that I will be watching over you.”
“This is not good-bye, this is see you later.”
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 16 at 5:00PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Father Charles Hoffmann will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 3:00PM until the service.
A memorial will be established in Sara's name.
