Shirley Ann Larson

February 28, 1935 — December 26, 2024

Shirley Ann Larson, lifelong resident of Antigo, passed away on December 26, 2024 at Marshfield Medical Center. She was 89 years old.


Shirley was born on February 28, 1935 to the late Fred and Elizabeth (Lucht) Frisch. She graduated from Antigo High School. She married Raymond Larson and the couple later divorced.


Shirley dedicated 25 years to caregiving as a nurse’s aid at Eastview Medical Center and Rehab. Her compassion touched the lives of countless residents at Eastview.


She was a member of Ss. Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church. In her free time, she loved playing cards and shaking dice. She cherished the times spent catching up with friends at the tavern. In her younger years, she found joy in fishing. Shirley also had a great love for travel, especially with her dear friend Con Frisch. She traveled to all 50 states and to many other countries as well. Above all, Shirley’s greatest happiness came from spending time with her family. She adored her grandkids and great grandkids. Shirley had a zest for life. She always knew how to have fun and live life to the fullest.


Shirley is survived by daughters Sandi (Rick) Warren of Antigo and Wanda Larson, grandchildren, Matt (Sara) Warren, Josh (Emily) Warren, and Rob Warren, great grandchildren, Hailey Warren, Derek Warren, Jackson Warren, and Cooper Warren, and one great grandchild on the way, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends Dorothy Richling and Karen Toth.


In addition to her parents, former husband Raymond, and dear friend Con, Shirley was preceded in death by sisters Linda (Elmer) Smith and Janet (Eugene) Pionkowski and, and brother Eugene Frisch.


A memorial service for Shirley will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home with Father Kamal Gopu officiating. Visitation will take place prior to the service, at the funeral home from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Burial will take place at a later date at Queen of Peace Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Langlade County Humane Society.
