In Loving Memory of Thelma June Powell Paulson

Thelma June Powell Paulson, born September 29, 1946, in Mattoon, Wisconsin, passed away on July 28, 2026, at the age of 79. She was the daughter of Patrick Powell and Mary Knipp Powell and the fifth of twelve children.

Thelma was preceded in death by her siblings Patricia Schulz, Jack Powell, Patrick Powell Jr., Richard Powell, Wilma Jean Luther, Mary Copps, Charles Powell, and Thomas Powell.

She is survived by her siblings Yvonne Poland of Antigo, Maxine (Paul) Meyers of Woodville, Pete Powell of Antigo, and Barbara Roberts (Earl) of Tomah.

T.J. loved the Lord and especially took an interest in Biblical Jewish traditions. During her years in California, she raised three children as a single mother while working in various clerical positions. She will be remembered for her generosity and the way she helped family, friends, and neighbors. After moving back to Wisconsin in her later years, she appreciated the caring and support of her nephew Pat Luther. She cherished all of her many nieces and nephews.

Her quiet strength is woven into the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great‑grandchildren:

Matt Paulson: His children Josh (Lana), Abbie, Myles, Elliott, and grandson Klover.

Pamela Paulson Kennedy (Paul Martino): Their sons James (Jayde), Alec Martino, and granddaughter Riley.

Melanie West (Maurice): Their children Jami Sanchez (Santiago), Chad (Crystal), Marsha Day (Lional), Jolene Kaske (Seth), and Johnnie DeHart; grandchildren Chance, Sammy (preceded in death), Katie, Jaidyn, Kadence, Liliana, Memphis, Jasmine (Justice), Kiana, and Harley; great‑grandchildren Linda, Jackson, and Bently.

Funeral services will be held at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home August 6, 2026 at 12:00pm. Reverend Gregory Dorsch will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the funeral home and a burial will follow the service at Elton Cemetery.
