Thomas Carl Mckinnon

Thomas Carl McKinnon, age 82, of Antigo, entered into his heavenly home on Sunday October 13, 2024 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Tom was born on May 12, 1942 in Antigo, a son of the late Eugene Francis and Dorothy Louise (Laehn) McKinnon.

He was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1960. On June 15, 1963, Tom was united in marriage to Lolita Claire Johnson at United Church of Christ in Antigo.

As a member of Faith United Church of Christ, Tom served on their governing board.

He was employed at Kaydee Supermarket and Hunter’s Super Market as a manager and Antigo Housing Authority in the maintenance department.

He and Lolita were members of the Phlox Winter Knights Snowmobile Club. They both had a love of animals, especially their beloved dogs. They deeply loved their family and truly enjoyed traveling to visit them.

Survivors in addition to his wife Lolita, include his daughters; Lisa (Pat) Deacy of Independence, MO and Shari (Steve) Welnetz of Jacksonville, FL, 4 grandchildren: Shayna Powell, Luke Deacy, Nikki Welnetz, Marcus Welnetz, great grandchildren: Lola Powell, Levi Powell, Della Deacy, Hudson Huebner, a brother-in-law Doug (Linda) Johnson of Deerbrook, sisters-in-law: Lolly (Erik) Olsen of Antigo and Karen Gregersen of Neenah, nephews: Mike, Dave, Rick, and Steve McKinnon. Tom is also survived by his beloved and faithful canine companion, Lucy.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother Robert McKinnon.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM. Reverend Wes Jedras will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Langlade County Humane Society in memory of Tom.
