The Spirit of Thomas Edward Mishler was received by his Heavenly Father on March 21, 2011 after having fought valiantly against cancer.Born on April 8, 1948, Tom was the eldest son of Lowell and Alice (Foreman) Mishler. He was preceded in death by both parents and his cherished dog Butch and is survived by two brothers, Kenneth Mishler (Linda Spence) of Antigo and William Mishler (Carolyn) of Deerbrook; a daughter, Cathy Farley and son-in-law Glen of Largo, FL., and three grandchildren: Kyle, Tommy and Samantha.Tom received the majority of his education in the Elcho School District although he lived on several occasions with his family in DuBois and Rexford, WY as well as the border of Montana/Canada, becoming a 3rd generation logger.He married Janet Detwiler in 1969. Cathy was the only child born of the union. They later divorced.Tom retired from logging after suffering a work-related back injury and became a friend to many, including Alice Zangl of Antigo, who became a dear friend and member of the extended family.Tom enjoyed walking in the woods, working in the yard and visiting the area casinos with Alice where he made many friends he held close in his heart.He was grateful for the care of Dr. Peterson and Dr. Turnbull and the care and compassion shown by many of the staff at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation. His family will forever be grateful for the exceptional expressions of affection and compassion these dedicated caregivers displayed toward him.
