Thomas J. Prins, age 72 of Antigo, died peacefully Thursday, October 24, at his home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. Tom was born on December 11, 1940 in Antigo to the late Abraham and Alice (Monahan) Prins. He was united in marriage to Cathy Holup on September 7, 1963 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. Tom was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1959. He was employed in the grocery business, working for Lee's Super Valu and Butch's Super Valu. His pastimes included bowling, horseshoes, tying flies, and fly fishing. He aslo enjoyed the annual trip to deer camp with his buddies. Especially dear to him was time with his family and grandchildren. In addition to his wife of 5o years, he is survived by 2 daughters, Rhonda (Robert) Husnick of Antigo, Jody (Ernie) Steger of Antigo, 4 grandchildren, Jared and Taylor Husnick, Lukas and Lindsey Steger, a great grandson, Cayden Husnick, mother-in-law, Loretta Holup of Antigo, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Karen Prins of Wausau, Mary Nolan of Milwaukee, Sandy (Ray) Hubatch of Mountain, Connie (Gary) Powell of Neva, Barb Holup of Waukesha, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a brother Jerry Prins, a brother-in-law Ron Holup, and his father-in-law Ed Holup. A memorial service will be held on Monday at noon at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in the Queen of Peace Mausoleum.
