Thomas Tobias

Thomas Elliott Tobias, age 86, of Antigo died Sunday, February 10, 2019 at Rosalia Gardens under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. Tom was born on January 7, 1933 in Racine, WI to the late Edward and Elsie (Kieck) Tobias. He was a graduate of Racine High School and went on to serve in the US Navy from 1953-1957. He was a cook and worked in the print shop during his service time. Tom was employed at JI Case while living in Racine. In 1957 he moved to Antigo and operated the family business, Brookside Tavern. He also was employed at Speaker Motion, Nortech and Johnson Electric Coil. He was the fire warden for the Town of Harrison for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Aniwa. Survivors include a sister Mary (Charles) Eschmann of Racine, 2 nephews; Greg (Michelle) Eschmann and their children, Bailey and Sawyer of Wausau and Steven (Karen) Eschmann and their children, Jennifer, Sarah, and Charles of Racine; and his dear friends; Jodi and Al Kreager and their family and Patti and Jim Frisch and their family. Memorial donations will be directed to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. In honoring Tom's wishes, no services will be held.
