Thomas Edward “Tom” Ziber, age 64, died Thursday, September 30, 2021 at his home under the care of his family and LeRoyer Hospice. Tom was born on March 2, 1957 in Chicago, Il to the late Henry Sr. and Therese (Schweihs) Ziber. As a faithful Neil Diamond fan, Tom was a member of his fan club, meeting and getting to know hundreds of fans and becoming friends of them. He was especially blessed to meet Risë Levine, a fellow fan that became his wife on August 1, 2021. Thomas had many interests including visiting museums and art galleries, antiquing, shopping flee markets, gardening vegetables and flowers, and hiking Wisconsin trails. He especially enjoyed the exhibits at Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum. Tom was most passionate about collecting Neil Diamond memorabilia and creating a website, Looking Back, that chronicled Neil’s life. Tom was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1975. During his high school years, he helped the Red Robin Cross Country team qualify for state. Following high school, Tom served in the US Navy for four years. Thomas was dedicated employee at Plaspac for 33 years. Survivors in addition to his wife Risë include his children: Elizabeth Burgess of Antigo and son Thomas Ziber, Jr. of Schofield, grandchildren: Benjamin, Naomi, and Alexander, a brother Joe Ziber of Oceanside, CA, sisters: Mary (Babe) Banzcak of Antigo and Rita (Richard) Schroeder of Wrightstown, WI, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by a sister Helen Smith and two brothers Pete and Hank Ziber. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 7 at 6:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Reverend Charles Hoffmann will officiate. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4:00 PM until the service. Burial will be held at Northwoods National Cemetery in Rhinelander. Military honors will be held at the graveside. Burial date and time will be posted at a later date. Memorial in Tom's name may be directed the the American Cancer Society.
