Viola Allen

Viola Allen, formerly of the Antigo area, died April 2, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Sheboygan. She was 86 years old. She was born Sept. 3, 1926 in Lugerville, daughter of the late Dewey and Vesta (Pennington) Wheeler. She married Irwin L. Allen on April 24, 1948 in Chicago, IL. He preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1995. Mrs. Allen attended Phillips High School and Harrison Tech in Chicago. She resided in Lugerville, Chicago, White Lake, and Sheboygan. She was employed as operations manager at Morningside Nursing Home in Sheboygan. She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church in White Lake. She was active in her church, serving as treasurer, participating in Ladies Aid, and teaching Sunday school. She enjoyed making wedding cakes, quilting, crocheting, and baking. Survivors include her 4 daughters, Judith (Chet Jastrenski) Schneeckloth of Ben Salem, PA, Barbara (Norman) Fitch of Burlington, Kathryn (Guy) Edwards of White Lake, and Martha (Steve) Hicks of Sheboygan; 3 sons, Irwin (Linda) Allen of Redding, PA, Michael Allen of Sheboygan, and Mark (Lori) of Green Bay; 19 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Dewey (Lorraine) Wheeler of Golden, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 infant daughters; 2 sisters; and 2 brothers. Funeral service will take place at noon on Saturday at Hope Presbyterian Church in White Lake, with Pastor George Buchanan officiating. Visitation will be 10:30 a.m.-noon on Saturday at the church. Burial will take place in Bent Cemetery on a later date. A memorial has been established in her name.
