Virginia Hildred "Tootsie" Hanson, 68, of Elcho died Sunday at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation Center. She was born September 9, 1940 in Crandon, WI to the late Estill and Bessie (McPherson) Barker. On March 8, 1958 she married Marvin Hanson in Elcho, WI. He preceded her in death on May 29, 1989. Tootsie was a homemaker and also cleaned cottages in the Post Lake area and tied flies for Sheldon's Inc. She spent most of her childhood in the Crandon and then moved to Merrimac with her parents. Later she returned to Crandon and eventually settled in Elcho.Her enjoyments included crafts, camping, bird watching, fishing, bluegrass music and listening to Brother Bill, however, her life revolved around her grandchildren and great grandson. She is survived by 2 daughters; Bonnie (Ted) Steinert of Elcho and Carolyn (Dave) Cahak of Antigo; a son Marvin (Lisa) of Elcho;of Crandon; 5 grandchildren Melvin Johnson, Anna (Mark) Rose, Diedre Hanson, Kelly Hanson and Mark Hanson and 1 great grandson Kammron Rose; a sister Lorraine (Chester) Gilbert of Crandon; 3 brothers, Bill Barker, Joseph (Lynn) Barker, and Estill Jr. (Jean) Barker all of Crandon. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister Ramona Barker, 2 brothers Denver and Kenny Barker, and 2 sister-in-laws Karen Barker and Mary Hartman, and brother-in-law Dewey Hartman.
