Vivian M. Borucki (nee Johnson) was born to eternal life at the age of 86 on Dec. 23, 2011 under the care of LeRoyer Hospice while surrounded by her family. She was born April 14, 1925 in Crandon to the late Martha (nee Schuster) and Christian Johnson. She lived and worked in Crandon until she was 18, when she moved to Milwaukee and worked at the Allen Bradley Co. until the end of World War II. She met the love of her life, Henry D. Borucki, and they were married on Sept. 28, 1946. They moved to Crandon for a couple of years, then moved back to Milwaukee for many years to work and raise their children. They moved back to the north woods in July 1977, when they bought the grocery store in Elton. They worked together at Borucki's Grocery Store until Henry's death on Aug. 8, 1982, when she took over the business. The business continues and has expanded with the help of two of her daughters, Marlene and Kristie. She enjoyed painting, gardening, walks in the woods, drives in the countryside, and especially her family. She loved caring for her birds, both indoors and outdoors. She greatly loved her family, and is survived by 4 children, Tom (Suzy Rodriquez) Borucki of Milwaukee, Jackie (Dale) Heitmann of Wausau, Marlene (Maurice) Straley of Elton, and Kristie (Arlen) Heistad of White Lake; former daughter-in-law, Irene Borucki of Milwaukee; 7 grandchildren, Beth (fiancé Adrian) Borucki of Milwaukee, Blake Borucki serving in the US Air Force in Okinawa, Japan, Dr. David (Ashley) Heitmann of Madison, Samantha Straley of Elton, Aleshia (Sgt. Steve, US Marine Corps) Olson of Yuma, AZ, Abby Heistad of White Lake, and Amy Heistad of White Lake; 3 great-grandchildren, Samantha Borucki, Will Sullivan, and Adalyn Heitmann; a great-great-grandchild, I'mari Borucki; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Henry; granddaughter, Brenda Borucki; 2 brothers, Clarence "Soapy" Johnson and Jim Johnson. A funeral will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tues. at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Rev. Marvin Kindle officiating. Visitation will be 4-8 Mon. and 9-10 Tues. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Crandon. The family would like to thank the LeRoyer Hospice for their compassionate care, especially Dr. Turnbull, Dr. Moore, Dr. Smith, Jeanette Theisen RN, Sr. Delores, Sr. Adele, and Sr. Jean.
