Walter E. Borowski

Walter Edward Borowski, 98, died June 4, 2010 at Eastview Medical and Rehabilitation in Antigo.He was born in Milwaukee on Feb. 13, 1912, son of the late John Borowski and Julia (Kowalczyk) Borowski. He married Edith Beachtel on June 27, 1936 in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death.Walter was employed as a truck driver for the City of Milwaukee Sanitation Department. After retirement, he resided at Squaw Lake, Minocqua. He was an avid cross-country ski racer,and was a member of Miocqua Winter Park where he skied as often as he could. He finished the American Birkebiner in Cable when he was in his mid 70's. Survivors include 2 sons, Lee (Betsy) Borowski of Brookfield, WI and Dale (Wendy) Borowski of Mountain Home, AR; 4 grandchildren, Bret (Krista) Borowski of Brookfield, WI, Lisa (Dave) Schimp of Tennessee, Cheryl Borowski of Eagle River, WI, and Cory (Debra) Borowski of Three Lakes, WI; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Judy. No services are scheduled.
