Warren T. Kennedy, Jr. passed away Friday, July 13, 2018. He was 85 years old. He was born July 9, 1933 in Milwaukee, son of the late Warren T. and Margaret (Reimer) Kennedy. He married Kathleen Marifke on Aug. 8, 1953 in Colorado Springs, CO, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 21, 2011. Warren graduated from Cudahy High School, then served in the US Army. He was employed as a machinist at Ladish Co. in Cudahy until his retirement. He always loved the lakes of Northern Wisconsin, and in 1969 he and Kathleen purchased their home on Lower Clear Lake. He was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Deerbrook. He was a former member of Grace Lutheran Church in Oak Creek, where he sang in the church choir, and served as a Sunday School and confirmation teacher. He coached baseball, basketball, and football. Warren was a social man, who loved spending time with people, dining out, and attending community events. He always appreciated a good meal. He liked playing cards, gambling, hunting, and fishing. Survivors include a daughter, Laura (Scott) Hafner of Sheboygan; 2 sons, Mark (Sarah Green) Kennedy of Bristol, Guy (Lynn) Kennedy of Deerbrook; 6 grandchildren, Sarah (Mathew), Martin (Kira), Kathleen (Benjamin), Nolan, Kelsey (Taylor), and Mickenzie; 3 great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Hayden, and Isadore; 2 sisters, Mary Woolsey, and Marlene Kennedy, both of Milwaukee; his brother and sister in law, Elaine and Kenneth Banaszynski; and a sister in law, Barbara Kennedy. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a brother, Robert Kennedy; a brother in law, Lawrence Woolsey; and 2 sisters in law, Gladys Braby, and Betty Kannaggeiser. A funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Deerbrook, with Rev. Jerome Hahn officiating. Visitation will be 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. A second visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment with military honors will follow the service at Kempster Cemetery. Friends may visit online at www.strasserrollerfh.com. His blood ran through his jiggle stick and his song is in our soul.
