Watt Palmer Gee, age 97, passed away Saturday.
Watt was born on June 22, 1927 in Green Bay to the late Watt Andrew and Louise Hildegard (Taylor) Gee.
While stationed in Japan, Watt met Kimi Ogeno. They were united in marriage in the Japanese Temple and upon receiving permission from General MacArthur they repeated their nuptials in the Presbyterian Church.
Watt enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17. Not being of age to serve, he had to leave the Navy. When Watt reached the age of 18, he enlisted in the US Army, serving for 20 years. He was stationed in Panama initially, and went on to serve in Korea, Germany, Japan and various US locations. While in Japan, Watt became trained as a medical technician going on to serve in a MASH unit in Korea.
Watt became a registered nurse and spent winters in the nursing field and summers as a commercial fisherman.
He enjoyed motorcycles, RVing, camping, fishing, and traveling. Watt was also a technician class level ham radio operator.
He resided in various places including, Pulaski, WI, Elton, WI, San Francisco, CA, Texas and Antigo.
Survivors include a daughter Louise “Liz” (Mats) Lagmanson, grandchildren: Mark (Alexandra Carswell) and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Cox, 4 great grandchildren, a sister Gail Gee and a sister-in-law Beatrice Gee.
In addition to his parents and wife, Watt was preceded in death by 2 sisters: Nathalie Harvey and Jackie Fogeltantz and a brother Keith Gee.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 am at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Reverend Marvin Kindle will officiate. Military honors will be held following the service at the funeral home.
