As fate would have it, Wayne A. Tews, with the love and grace of God, went to join his beloved wife, Nancy, on Tuesday, August 29, just eleven days after she was called home. Wayne was 83 years old.
Wayne was born on May 16, 1940 in the town of Polar to the late Arthur and Emilie (Fischer) Tews. He was a graduate of Antigo High School.
On February 11, 1963, Wayne was united in marriage to Nancy DeBrucq. The couple was blessed to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary this year.
Wayne was a machinist and resided in Milwaukee from 1963-1977. The couple then returned to Antigo where Wayne was a school bus driver.
Wayne and Nancy enjoyed traveling and bike rides together. Wayne was a terrific cook, a talent that was enjoyed by granddaughter, Haley.
Survivors include a daughter, Kelly (Sean) Novak, granddaughter Haley Novak, a brother Richard Tews, a sister-in-law Mary Lynn (Bill) Hull, and many nieces and nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by a brother and his wife Jerry and Mary Tews, a sister and her husband Carol and Nick Chronis, sisters-in-law and their husbands; Gail and Dick Gumness and Pat and Joe Grall, and a nephew Robert Hull.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff of LeRoyer Hospice, the emergency department at Wausau Aspirus Hospital, the staff at Aspirus Langlade Hospital and the staff at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home.
A private graveside service for Nancy and Wayne will be held.
