William "Bill" Clifford Peters

August 6, 1932 — June 3, 2021

William "Bill" Clifford Peters of Hollister passed away on June 3, 2021 at the age of 88. Bill was born on August 6, 1932 to the late Clifford and Leona (Grosskreutz) Peters in Newald, WI. He graduated from Laona High School, class of 1950. Bill then enlisted in the US Army, serving from March 4, 1953 to March 31, 1961. He served in the Korean War. Bill owned and operated his own gas station and family restaurant in Fond du Lac. He then also worked in state highway construction and most recently at Antigo Auto Parts as a mechanic. On September 23, 2000 Bill was united in marriage to Sally Bloecher (Eckstein). She survives. Bill had a passion for the Lily Sno-Bird Club and was involved in all aspects of the club from grooming to maintenance, to training new groomer drivers. He also served as a director of the club. Bill was also a member of the White Lake American Legion Post 524 and ATV/UTV club of White Lake. He enjoyed fishing, camping, attending country music festivals, and listening to music of any sorts. He was a talented musician who was self-taught on an organ he made. Bill was a serious Green Bay Packer Backer and loved the Milwaukee Brew Crew. He wasn't a teacher by trade, but by heart. He always had patience to explain how things worked to the true student. May it be fixing a tractor or driving anything from a lawn mower to a groomer. He had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. He was a gentle, kind man and will be greatly missed. Bill was also a compassionate caregiver to his cousin Eugene Peters. Bill was also a very good dad to Sally's children. In addition to Sally, Bill is survived by daughters; Lynn (Paul) Wickman and Gloria (Mark) Weller, sons; Jack (Kelly) Bloecher, Melvin Bloecher, and Les (Jane) Bloecher, 17 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife; Ann (Herrick) Peters, and a sister; Joan (Blackey) Cornell. A memorial gathering for Bill will take place on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Lily Sno-Bird Club (W4505 Turtle Lake Rd, Lily, WI 54491) at 11:00 AM. Military Honors will take place at 12:00 with a service and luncheon to follow.
