William G. Kostelac, of Antigo, died Friday, April 15, 2011 at his home. He was 75 years old.He was born in Ironwood, MI on Feb. 5, 1936, son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Wick) Kostelac. He married Ramona Moore on June 1, 1974 in Waltham, MA.He graduated from Antigo High School in 1954, and served in the US Army from 1955-1957. While in the army, he was stationed in Germany as an intermediate speed radio operator. Mr. Kostelac received a bachelor's of arts degree from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. He later attended University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the International Correspondence School of Scranton, PA. A former resident of Boston, MA, and Waltham, MA, he was a postmaster for the US Postal Service.He enjoyed continuing his education, and was always reading and learning something new. He also liked to play chess and checkers on the computer, and watch football and baseball games.Survivors include 2 sisters, Mary Jo Kostelac of Canyon City, CA, and Patricia (Willis Rudy) Parker of Sommerfield, FL; 2 brothers, James Kostelac of Poynette, and Thomas "Pete" (Ruth) Kostelac of West Bend; and nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Mary (nee Raisch) Kostelac. A memorial prayer service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wed. at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home, with Fr. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 at the funeral home. Military honors will take place at the funeral home immediately following the service. Burial will take place at a later time at Elmwood Cemetery.
