William M. Majest, age 58, of Hollister, died October 16 at his home in the loving presence of his wife and family following a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Bill was born December 30, 1953 to Marilyn (Kiel) Majest and the late William J. Majest in Milwaukee, WI. He was a graduate of Menomonee Falls High School class of 1972 and went on to Milwaukee Area Technical College. He was also trained in business management. On June 26, 1993 Bill was united in marriage to Kay Kielcheski at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in a fairy tale wedding that grew into a lifetime of love. Bill was employed as heavy equipment mechanic by the Langlade County Highway Department for over 21 years. He previously was employed by Briggs and Stratton, Ladish Company, owned and operated Majest Roofing and Siding and also subcontracted machine repair and rebuilding. He had a gift and talent to repair and build anything and was generous with those gifts and talents, always willing to help others. Bill served as Union Vice President of Local 36 Council of 40 from 2004-2008 and as president from 2008 until present, he served as Supervisor of the Town of Wolf River since 2009 and was on the Langlade County Insurance Advisory Committee in 2009. Bill enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, waterskiing, wakeboarding and four wheeling. One of his favorite hobbies was restoring old cars. Summers were highlighted by trips to Cruzin' Oldies in Porterfield, WI, where Bill was awarded best in show for his cars many years. He also enjoyed the live music performed at the event. Bill and Kay had a special fondness for Halloween, decorating their home to the hilt and Bill with his knack for carving pumpkins. They welcomed friends and family during Halloween to share in the festivities. Bill will be remembered for his genuine friendly nature and always having time for a good visit. In addition to his wife, Kay, survivors include his loving mother, Marilyn Majest of Hollister, loving daughters, Jan (Kevin) Birmingham of South Milwaukee, Becky (Bill) Potterton of Milwaukee, and Trish (Tim) Welchman of West Allis, loving sisters, Sandra Majest and her husband Gary Talbert of Kenosha and Judith (Mark) Haas of Waleska, GA , 8 grandchildren, Victoria, Jacob, Emily, Bailey, Timmy, Nick, Ashlyn and Tegan , his Godson Rayfield Tallier and his Pomeranian companion Bella, who cared for Bill in such a special way. He was preceded in death by his father. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Langlade. Father Omer Kelley will officiate. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00-8:00 PM at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home and on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the service at the church. A wake service will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lily Cemetery.
