William Sheldon

William Stewart Sheldon, of Antigo, died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Legacy Care Home in Minnetonka, MN. He was under the care of his family and St. Croix Hospice. He was born December 15, 1940 in Charleston, IL, son of the late A.L. "Todd" and Leone (Bailey) Sheldon. He married Barbara Scogin on April 8th, 1963 in Birmingham, AL. He was a graduate of Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam and attended the University of Arizona. Mr. Sheldon was Vice President of Sheldon's Inc. until his retirement in 1986. After retirement, his creativity merged with his love for nature, and he began to photograph wildlife. Befriending several professional wildlife photographers, he eventually traveled all over the world in this artistic endeavor. Bill Sheldon lived by these words: I never met someone I couldn't learn something from. In addition to his wife, Barbara, survivors include 2 daughters, Andrea (Paul) Tshihamba of St. Louis Park, MN and Billie Marie (Keith) Blomberg of St. Louis Park, MN; a brother, Michael (Cindy) Sheldon of Antigo; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Kitty Schumitsch A funeral service will be held at the United Methodist Church, Thursday, February 21st at 11:00 am. Reverend Paul Tshihamba and Reverend Debbie Pimm will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 20 from 4-8pm at the funeral home, and from 10-11am at the Church. Interment will follow the service at Elmwood Cemetery.
