The Compassionate Friends - Ongoing Event

Assists families toward the positive resolution of grief following the death of a child of any age.  Meets the second Tuesday of each month at St. Joseph's Outpatient Center across from Langlade Hospital.  Meeting time is 6:30-8:30pm, with 6:30-7:00pm  specifically for those who are newly bereaved (within about past 1 1/2 years).  Regular meeting and guest speakers will take place 7:00-8:30pm.

Workshop for Survivors of Suicide Loss

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention hosts Jack Jordan, PhD, FT to present this interactive workshop.  The workshop draws on the presenter's experience as a grief counselor, and will include ample opportunity for Q&A.

 

Event is 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at Northcentral Technical College, 1000 W. Campus Drive, Wausau.

Understanding Grief Spring Seminar by Wings

Wings: A Grief Education Ministry presents two seminars with guest speaker Janet McCord, PhD, FT. 

 

First seminar is entitled "Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda: Confronting Guilt and Shame - and Regret - in Bereavement" and takes place 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, 2020. 

 

Second seminar is "Devastating Losses: Understanding the Family Response to Suicide and Addiction" and is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. Friday, April 17, 2020.

Hike for Hope

American Foundation for Suicide Prevention hosts an annual Hike for Hope in support of those affected by suicide, and to raise funds for suicide prevention programs and research.  Registration begins at 9:00am at Antigo's Heinzen Pavilion, 420 Field Street, and the walk begins at 10:00am.

Walk to End Alzheimer's

Join us as we Walk to End Alzheimer's.  This community event is not only a fund raiser but also an educational event that can provide support to caregivers and those impacted by Alzheimer's Disease.  The walk takes place September 12, 2020.  Registration at 8:00 a.m., ceremony at 9:00, walk to follow.  For more information contact Julie St Pierre 715-352-4091 or jstpierre@alz.org
